A man in his 50s tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle crash on the A39 near Bridgwater early this morning.
Emergency responders were alerted to the incident at approximately 4:24 am on Monday, March 16, following reports of a collision involving a red Ford Fiesta at Moorlinch.
Despite the prompt response, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have informed his next of kin and are providing support through specially trained family liaison officers.

The A39 was temporarily closed while police conducted an investigation, but the road has since reopened to traffic.
Avon and Somerset Police are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have captured relevant dashcam footage to come forward. Witnesses should contact the force on 101 and refer to incident number 5226072114.
