Man Dies in A371 Crash Near Wells; Two Others Seriously Injured

A tragic collision on the A371 near Wells on February 18 resulted in the death of a man and left two others seriously injured. Avon and Somerset Police responded to the two-vehicle crash shortly after 3 p.m. in the village of Dinder, located between Shepton Mallet and Wells.

The accident involved an Audi S3 and a VW Golf. The driver of the VW Golf, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene after his car left the road and ended up in a nearby field. His family has been informed and is receiving support from a specialist family liaison officer.

The two occupants of the Audi, also in their 30s, sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital. Their families have been notified and are being kept updated as the police investigation continues.

The A371 was closed for several hours while officers carried out their enquiries but has since reopened. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with doorbell, dashcam, or CCTV footage related to the incident to come forward.
