A man has tragically died after a collision involving a lorry and a van in Somerset.
Emergency services were called to the A37 at Ston Easton on Thursday, 20 August, following reports of the incident. At approximately 2.25pm, a lorry, which had a crane attached, overturned and collided with a van.
The passenger of the van, a man in his thirties, was pronounced dead at the scene. Avon and Somerset Police have informed his family and are providing them with support through a specially-trained officer.

The driver of the van sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment in hospital; these injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the lorry did not suffer any physical injuries.
In order to facilitate investigation work, the A37 High Street was closed overnight following the collision. Police have stated that the road will remain closed for some time due to the complexity of the recovery operation. Additionally, repairs to the highway are expected as a result of the accident.
Officers are appealing to witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident to come forward and assist with their enquiries.
