Man Denies Murder of Craig Hurcombe After Remains Found in Somerset

Michael Bretton, 40, from Shaftesbury, Dorset, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Craig Hurcombe, whose remains were discovered in Somerset. Bretton appeared at Bristol Crown Court on March 2, facing charges over the death of 39-year-old Hurcombe, a resident of Rowde, Wiltshire.

The remains of Hurcombe were found on January 14 in the Roemead Road area of Gurney Slade. He had been reported missing to Wiltshire Police four days earlier. Bretton’s next court appearance is scheduled for May 5, with a trial set to begin on July 13 that is expected to last approximately two weeks.
