Man Denies Murder After Human Remains Found in Somerset

Michael Bretton, 40, from Shaftesbury, Dorset, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Craig Hurcombe, whose remains were discovered in Somerset earlier this year.

The remains of 39-year-old Hurcombe, originally from Rowde, Wiltshire, were found in the Roemead Road area of Gurney Slade on January 14. Hurcombe had been reported missing to Wiltshire Police four days prior to the discovery.

Bretton appeared before Bristol Crown Court on March 2, where he denied the murder charge. He is scheduled for another court appearance on May 5, with a trial set to begin on July 13, expected to last around two weeks.
