Man Charged After Stabbing Incident During Disorder in Marlborough

Wiltshire Police have charged a man following a stabbing that occurred during a disorder in Marlborough. The incident took place around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, on Garside Way.

Upon responding to the scene, officers found a man in his 30s who had been stabbed. He was promptly transported to the hospital with serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The suspect, Patrick Martin, age 34, also from Garside Way, was arrested at the scene. He has now been formally charged with grievous bodily harm under Section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act, as well as assaulting an emergency worker.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson confirmed: “Patrick Martin has been charged and remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court.”

The police have described the incident as an isolated altercation between two men who were known to each other. The scene guard was lifted the following day after the area was secured.
