Patrick McCann, 34, from Walnut Avenue, Hillingdon, faces multiple charges following a police chase that resulted in a 14-year-old girl being seriously injured. The incident began on Sunday, February 1, when officers pursuing a suspected stolen vehicle spotted McCann’s car traveling from Chippenham to Lacock.
During the pursuit, McCann’s vehicle collided with a Volkswagen Transporter. One of the passengers in the Transporter, a teenage girl, suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Southmead Hospital for treatment.
McCann has been charged with failing to stop for police, dangerous driving causing serious injury, escaping lawful custody, breaching a court order, and taking a vehicle without consent. He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court on February 4.
