A Trowbridge man who was caught shoplifting from seven shops and threatening staff has been banned from entering them. Mark Parker, of no fixed abode, is now banned from B&M in Chippenham and other stores for two years after continuing to shoplift following charges in February.
Parker appeared at Salisbury Magistrates' Court on Thursday, April 10 after pleading guilty to numerous “atrocious” shoplifting offences in February. The stores he stole from include B&M, Savers, Co-OP, Sports Direct, M&S, The Shires shopping centre, and Budgens.
Parker was handed a Criminal Behaviour Order and will face court again if he breaches the CBO given to him. Sergeant Charley Chilton said: “Parker was arrested and charged with theft by shoplifting in February. Since then he has continued his atrocious behaviour by continuing to steal and be threatening towards staff.

“A Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) is put in place to protect retailers and their staff and try to reduce re-offending. If Parker breaches any of the conditions imposed, he commits a criminal offence and is liable to arrest and be put before the courts again.
“The restrictions imposed on him send out a clear message that this type of anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated, and we will seek similar conditions against others if proportionate to do so.”
In a similar case, notorious shoplifter Liam Allen, 35, was barred from entering several stores in Yeovil. Allen, currently without a fixed address, was handed a one-year prison sentence in June and a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) after pleading guilty to theft. The court also approved an order banning Allen from stepping foot in a raft of supermarkets and other stores.
