Edward Earle from Osprey Road, Warminster, has been handed a two-year community order after racially abusing a restaurant worker and assaulting a police officer. The incident occurred on July 5 last year at Chick-O-Land in Salisbury, where Earle verbally abused a staff member and made threats.
Following his arrest shortly after the incident, Earle became verbally abusive towards the officers. While in custody, he escalated the situation by throwing a shoe at a police officer.
Earle pleaded guilty to racially aggravated public order offences under Section 4A, a Section 5 Public Order offence, and Assaulting an Emergency Worker. His sentence includes completing 20 rehabilitation activity days and a four-month alcohol abstinence order, which will be monitored electronically.

Additionally, Earle has been ordered to pay £200 in compensation.
Police Constable Taylor commented, “Edward’s behaviour was unacceptable that night, and I am pleased the courts and CPS have taken these offences seriously. No one should face such abuse, and assaults on officers performing their duties will not be tolerated.”
