Man Attacked and Wallet Stolen in Weston-super-Mare Robbery

In the early hours of Friday, 19 September, a man in his mid-60s was assaulted and robbed on Walliscote Road in Weston-super-Mare. The attack took place around 2:10 a.m. when an unknown man approached the victim, physically attacked him, and stole his wallet containing several bank cards.

Following the theft, one of the stolen bank cards was used to make a £100 transaction. Despite the violent nature of the robbery, the victim was not seriously injured. Police have been maintaining contact with the victim and his family as the investigation continues.

Authorities have released a CCTV image of the suspect and are appealing to the public for assistance. The man in question is described as white, wearing a two-toned coat, black trousers, and carrying a rucksack.

PC Timothy Stride, the officer handling the case, stated, “We are asking anyone who recognizes this man or has information related to this incident to come forward. Such crimes are rare in this area, and we are committed to ensuring the safety of all residents and visitors, regardless of the time of day.”
