Man Assaulted with Baseball Bat After Answering Door Knock in Bridgwater

A man in his fifties was attacked with a baseball bat after answering a knock at his door on Wyndham Road, Bridgwater, at approximately 10:20 pm on Monday, January 12. According to Avon and Somerset Police, a group of unknown men arrived in a red estate-style vehicle and knocked on the victim’s door.

As the door was opened, some of the men assaulted the occupant with a baseball bat before fleeing the scene, driving off towards Bath Road. The victim sustained cuts and bruises but did not require hospital treatment.

Witnesses reported that the attackers were mostly dressed in black hoodies, with one man wearing a white or cream jacket. Police have conducted house-to-house inquiries and reviewed CCTV footage as part of the ongoing investigation.
