A man in his 60s was assaulted on Bath Street near Sainsbury’s in Chard early on Friday, November 14. At approximately 8:15 a.m., the victim was pushed from behind, causing him to fall and sustain cuts to his face that required hospital treatment.
Avon and Somerset Police are investigating the incident and have appealed for witnesses to come forward. The attacker reportedly fled the scene in a silver car before officers arrived. The suspect is described as a white male in his 50s, slim, around 5 feet 10 inches tall, with short grey hair.
Police have already spoken with several witnesses and are reviewing available CCTV footage. Authorities are urging anyone with information, including dashcam footage, to contact them to assist with the ongoing investigation.

Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “We are asking anyone who witnessed the assault or has any relevant video recordings to get in touch with us to help bring the offender to justice.”
