Man Arrested Following Serious Crash Injuring Two Elderly Women in Melksham

A 25-year-old man from Melksham has been arrested after a serious traffic accident involving two elderly women in the town of Melksham, Wiltshire. The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 pm on Saturday, September 27, when a white Ford Transit van reversing in the Lowbourne area struck the two women, both in their seventies.

Wiltshire Police confirmed that the women sustained potentially life-threatening injuries and were immediately transported to a hospital where they remain in critical condition. The man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drug driving. He has since been released on bail pending further investigations and results from evidential samples.
