A child was left bruised and shaken following an assault near a convenience store on Ebdon Road in Weston-super-Mare. The incident occurred around 6pm on Wednesday, April 8.
Avon and Somerset Police have arrested a man in his 30s in connection with the attack. He is suspected of affray and attempted wounding with intent but has been released on conditional bail while investigations continue.
The victim, whose exact age has not been disclosed, sustained bruising to the face, back, arms, and shoulders but did not require hospital treatment. Police confirmed they have maintained contact with the child and their family, offering support services as needed.
