Man Arrested After Child Assault Near Weston-super-Mare Shop

A child was left bruised and shaken after an assault near a convenience store on Ebdon Road, Weston-super-Mare. The incident occurred around 6 pm on Wednesday, April 8, and prompted a police investigation.

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed that the child sustained bruises to the face, back, arms, and shoulders but did not require hospital treatment. Despite the physical injuries being non-life-threatening, the child remains emotionally affected by the attack.

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of affray and attempted wounding with intent. He has since been released on conditional bail as the investigation continues.
