A man in his 60s from Stockport, Greater Manchester, has admitted to drugging and sexually assaulting his wife without her knowledge over a period spanning more than 20 years. Earlier this year, he pleaded guilty to multiple sexual offences against his wife, including rape and sexual assault, covering incidents between 2022 and 2025.\n\nOn Monday at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court, he entered further guilty pleas to similar charges dating back to 2004. These included administering a substance with intent to stupefy or overpower his wife from 2004 to 2025. To protect his wife’s anonymity, the defendant’s identity has been withheld.\n\nDressed in a dark grey suit with a blue shirt and tie, the man became emotional and was allowed to sit while answering the remaining charges. His wife attended the hearing, seated in the front row alongside family members.\n\nThe defendant had also previously admitted to sharing intimate photographs or videos of his wife without her consent for sexual gratification.\n\nMeanwhile, twelve co-defendants, including Karl Lindsay, 55, the former chief executive of Taunton Town Football Club, have denied various allegations associated with the same woman. A jury has been sworn in to hear the case; the prosecution has yet to present its opening statement.\n\nFollowing the husband’s guilty pleas to a total of 60 offences, Assistant Chief Constable Rick Jackson of Greater Manchester Police commented: “Our focus remains on supporting the victim of this horrific campaign of abuse throughout this complex investigation. Specialist support continues to be provided to the victim at the centre of this case.\n\n“If you are concerned that you or someone you know may have been affected by drug-facilitated sexual abuse, please be assured that you do not need proof, certainty, or a clear memory to be taken seriously.
