Motorists in Radstock are advised to plan their journeys carefully this summer, as a vital section of the A367 Wells Road will be closed for two weeks due to major sewer repair works. The closure begins on Monday, August 4, impacting the stretch near the town center—from the junction with The Street to the private road servicing numbers 12 to 20 Wells Road. The repairs are scheduled for completion by Friday, August 15.
During this period, an official diversion will reroute traffic via the A362 (Somervale Road, Radstock Road, Station Road, West Road), the A37, and then back onto the A367 (Bath Road), helping to manage traffic flow around the closure.
A spokesperson from Wessex Water commented, “While road closures are always a last resort, this is essential to ensure the safety of both our workforce and the public during the repair. We have informed local residents and coordinated with Radstock Town Council. We recognize that bus routes will be affected and encourage passengers to contact their bus operators for updated service information.”

Advanced warning signs will be clearly displayed throughout the area to alert drivers in advance. To minimize disruption, the repair team will work extended hours and weekends where necessary. Wessex Water apologizes for any inconvenience caused and thanks the public for their patience during this important infrastructure upgrade.
