Motorists in the South West of England are being advised of upcoming closures on the M5 and A303. For the M5, a section around junction 27 will be closed this evening from 9pm to 6am. The closure, between junction 26 (Wellington) and junction 28 (Cullompton) southbound, will necessitate diversions via the A38 and B3181. Meanwhile, a 4.5km section of the A303 through Winterbourne Stoke in Wiltshire will undergo a full weekend closure, from 9pm on Friday, April 25 to 6am on Monday, April 28.
The resurfacing works on the A303 will be carried out through a full weekend closure, including the road through the village of Winterbourne Stoke, between Longbarrow Roundabout and the A36 junction. Well-signed diversions will be in place for both directions. Light vehicles and HGVs will be directed through separate diversions. Access to Winterbourne Stoke will be via specific routes and the B3083, with no through access on the B3083 north/south of the A303 during the closures.
Drivers are urged to plan their journeys in advance and allow for extra travel time due to the closures.
