Luke McCormick Commits to Yeovil Town with New Long-Term Contract

Yeovil Town’s talisman Luke McCormick has reaffirmed his commitment to the club by signing a long-term contract that will keep him at the Glovers until the summer of 2028.

This season, McCormick has been a key attacking force, consistently threatening goals and leading by example with relentless work ethic, strong presence, and the ability to influence pivotal moments on the pitch.

Manager Billy Rowley praised McCormick’s impact: “Luke exemplifies everything we want Yeovil Town to represent. His dedication, mentality, and leadership have been outstanding. He sets the bar for everyone each day here at the club.

“Securing his future was a top priority. This signing marks an important step as we continue building towards success.”

Speaking after putting pen to paper, McCormick expressed his excitement: “I’m delighted to have this sorted and look forward to what lies ahead. The support from the fans is incredible, which was a major factor for me. The conversations I’ve had with the manager and the club’s leadership align perfectly with my own ambitions—to push Yeovil further up the ranks in the coming seasons. I’m proud to be part of that journey.”

He also praised the new management team: “Billy and Darren bring passion and shared values, which really motivate me. It’s an exciting time at Yeovil, and I’m eager to kick on and help the club grow. Our unified aim is to push this team higher, whether that happens this season or in the near future. We know it will take hard work and the right guidance, both of which we have.”

In addition to McCormick’s contract news, former Yeovil player Staunton has returned to the club in a vital developmental role with the under-19s programme. With over 100 appearances for the Glovers, Staunton is respected for his leadership and professionalism.

In his new role, Staunton will collaborate closely with the academy manager and coaching staff to enhance the day-to-day operations of the under-19 squad and advance the academy’s long-term development strategies. His focus will be on creating the best environment for young talent to progress towards the first team.

Reflecting on his return, Staunton said: “I’m incredibly proud and excited to be back at Yeovil Town and working with the under-19 programme. The future plans for the club are inspiring, and I look forward to helping nurture local players capable of making the step up.

“Yeovil has always held a special place in my heart, and I’m passionate about supporting young players both on and off the field.

“Working closely with the academy staff, I’m committed to helping these players reach their full potential.”
