Lorries Pay Tribute to Sisters Killed in Tragic Crash

A procession of lorries made its way through the Frome bypass in a touching tribute to two young sisters who lost their lives in an accident. More than a dozen lorries sounded their horns in honor of Madison and Liberty North, aged 21 and 17 respectively, who tragically died in a crash on A361 Frome Bypass in 2023.

Thomas Lenthall, the driver responsible for the accident, was sentenced to ten years in jail after admitting to two counts of causing death by dangerous driving. Reports revealed that he was driving at speeds exceeding 100mph when his car collided with the sisters' vehicle.

Madison was on the verge of graduating as a teacher when the incident occurred. The community came together on Saturday to pay their respects and keep their memory alive.

Reflecting on the tribute, one individual commented: “Out of tragedy comes unity. Well done. I hope you raise as much awareness as you do money.”

Another added: “Such a beautiful tribute for them both, they would have loved to see it.” And a third stated: “What a wonderful thing to do. Let’s hope someone listens. Sending so much love to those dear girls and their family and friends. Xxx”

The girls' parents, Verity and Jason, expressed their anguish following Lenthall’s sentencing: “Tuesday 25 July was the day before our daughter Maddie’s graduation. She, her sister Libby, and the whole family were so excited and proud.”

They went on to reveal the immense pain and loss they continue to experience, emphasizing the deep impact of their daughters' tragic and untimely deaths.
