Longleat has exciting news for 2025 as it prepares for the return of its popular Bat Cave walkthrough. The stately home is also offering Christmas gifts for the remaining festive season.
Simon Askew, Interim Chief Operating Officer, expressed the delight of fulfilling visitors' requests to access the House as part of the day ticket and to reopen the Bat Cave. The Bat Cave, originally set to open in spring, will now be open for February half term from 15 February. Additionally, the ground floor of Longleat House will be available for self-guided tours, providing an opportunity to explore the Elizabethan architecture. Guided tours can also be booked for a deeper dive into the historical and heritage aspects of the house.
Longleat’s Christmas showcase, The Festival of Light, is set to close on January 5. The estate will reopen on the weekends of February 1-2 and 8-9, followed by a Winter Wonders celebration for the week of half term, starting from February 15. The Winter Wonders event will offer a variety of activities including a 10ft inflatable toboggan slide, an inflatable Snow Globe, and a snowboard simulator for younger guests. Additionally, guests can participate in crafts and explore a trail around the historical trees of Longleat. Notably, the estate will be the new home for Egyptian fruit bats.
