Lily Allen expressed her surprise over Charli XCX not headlining Glastonbury. The 39-year-old singer confessed her astonishment at the absence of Charli XCX from the festival’s headline slot, especially given the English pop star’s recent musical achievements.
Praising US pop star Olivia Rodrigo, who is set to perform at the festival, Allen stated, “I’m absolutely over the moon for her. I think it’s going to be amazing and she will absolutely smash it. However, Charli XCX not headlining was a bit of a surprise, just because of the sheer amount of material that she has and how long she’s been around, and she’s English, and she’s had her f****** huge moment. So I don’t really understand why that’s happened.”
Charli XCX, who recently garnered five BRIT Awards, is scheduled to perform on the second day and will headline the second stage on Saturday, June 28.

The festival will also feature debut performances by Alanis Morisette, Noah Kahan, Gracie Abrams, Lola Young, and US rap star Doechi. Additionally, acts such as Wolf Alice, Wet Leg, Fatboy Slim, Loyle Carner, and Scissor Sisters will be making a comeback.
Neil Young is set to headline the Saturday night, with Sir Rod Stewart taking the coveted legends slot.
The Glastonbury organisers indicated that many more acts and attractions are yet to be announced for the festival.
In 2022, Olivia Rodrigo performed at the festival alongside Lily Allen, where they delivered a rendition of the politically-charged track ‘F*** You’ on the Other stage.
