Lewis Capaldi to Headline BST Hyde Park and Roundhay Festival Following Triumphant Comeback

Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi is making a powerful return to the live music scene, confirmed as the headliner for BST Hyde Park in London and the inaugural Roundhay Festival in Leeds for summer 2026.

The 28-year-old artist took a hiatus from touring after his 2023 Glastonbury Festival performance, during which he openly struggled with the symptoms of Tourette syndrome. Returning to Glastonbury the same year, Capaldi delivered a heartfelt set on the Pyramid Stage, expressing his desire to “finish what I couldn’t finish the first time round.” His iconic track “Someone You Loved” moved the crowd as they helped him sing through the moment.

Following this deeply personal comeback, Capaldi announced a sold-out UK and Ireland tour, calling the experience “incredible” and “surreal.” Leading up to these major events, he performed a series of secret gigs and guest appearances, managing to overcome the challenges posed by his condition. In a candid interview with therapy charity BetterHelp, he shared how adrenaline and preparation helped him regain confidence during his warm-up show in Edinburgh.

Capaldi’s journey and struggles were documented in the Netflix film Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now, released in April 2023. The documentary offers an intimate look at his life with Tourette syndrome — a neurological condition characterized by involuntary sounds and movements — and his decision to step back from the spotlight to focus on his health.

With six UK number one singles, including hits like “Before You Go,” “Pointless,” and “Wish You The Best,” and two chart-topping albums, Capaldi has solidified his place as one of the UK’s premier musical talents. After the UK and Ireland tour, he will take his music Down Under, performing across Australia and New Zealand in late 2026.

Capaldi’s Roundhay Festival headline slot on July 4 marks the launch of this new Leeds festival, a collaboration with Leeds City Council aiming to establish a fresh cultural highlight in the city. The following weekend, on July 11, he will make his BST Hyde Park debut, joining a prestigious roster that has included legends like Neil Young, Stevie Wonder, and Ed Sheeran.

Jim King, CEO of AEG Presents UK and European Festivals, expressed enthusiasm about Capaldi’s return: “Announcing Lewis Capaldi as a BST Hyde Park headliner for 2026 feels absolutely perfect. He is fast becoming a legend for a new generation and will take his place comfortably among the great BST headliners.”

Tickets for both concerts will go on sale on Friday, September 19 at 9am, giving fans the chance to witness the next chapter in Capaldi’s remarkable career.
