Lewis Capaldi Set for Glastonbury Comeback with Secret Set Slot

Lewis Capaldi is gearing up for a remarkable return to the Glastonbury Festival following a difficult performance two years ago, when vocal issues overshadowed his set.

According to sources cited by the Daily Mail, Capaldi is poised to take the “Secret Set” spot on Friday evening. This slot, scheduled between 4:55 pm and 5:30 pm, comes after Burning Spear and before performances by Alanis Morissette, Biffy Clyro, and The 1975.

Capaldi’s 2023 appearance was plagued by vocal struggles which led him to repeatedly apologize to the audience. The artist revealed he experienced a flare-up of Tourette’s Syndrome during that set, which affected his ability to perform.

The Bathgate-born singer had taken a break before the festival to focus on his wellbeing and hinted to fans that another hiatus might follow his Glastonbury return. During his challenging 2023 run, Capaldi openly expressed frustration with his voice, telling the crowd, “Glasgtownbury, I’m really sorry, I’m a bit annoyed with myself here.”

In a touching show of support, the audience joined in singing his hit “Someone You Loved,” uplifting Capaldi and nearly moving him to tears. Fans also cheered with chants of “Oh Lewis Capaldi” to boost his morale.

Capaldi has been prioritizing his mental and physical health since then, recognizing the importance of managing his condition to sustain his career. “I need to do this so I can keep doing everything I love for a long time to come,” he stated.

His Tourette’s Syndrome, a neurological disorder causing involuntary movements and vocal tics, had become prominent during his Glastonbury set. This condition was also highlighted in his acclaimed Netflix documentary, How I’m Feeling Now, released shortly before the 2023 festival.

Recently, fans were thrilled by Capaldi’s surprise guest appearance with Tom Walker at Edinburgh’s Assembly Rooms. Additionally, fellow artist Yungblud hinted earlier this year that Capaldi was preparing to return to music, praising his new work and mental health progress.
