  • Veronica (née Hordern) passed gently at her home in Wells on 25th June, aged 73. A talented piano and cello teacher from 1976 until nearly her final year, Veronica was also a gifted composer and longtime organist at St Joseph and St Teresa’s Church in Wells. Her funeral service will be held at the church on Friday, 17th July at 11am, with donations welcomed for the church.

  • A former headteacher of Combe Down Junior School passed away suddenly at home on 22nd May, aged 82. The funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, 7th July at St Mary’s Parish Church, Timsbury, followed by a private cremation. Donations, if desired, may be made to St Mary’s Church.

  • Kenneth Bruce of Coxley died peacefully on 19th June, aged 86. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. His funeral will take place at Mendip Crematorium on Wednesday, 8th July at 3:30pm. Donations may be made to the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK.

  • William (Bill) of Barton St. David passed away peacefully at home on 14th June, aged 90. His funeral service will be held at Barton St. David Church on Wednesday, 8th July at 1:30 pm, followed by burial. Donations can be made to St Margaret’s Hospice.

  • Joan, aged 98, passed peacefully in Ivelhurst Nursing Home on 26th June. Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, her funeral will be at Yeovil Crematorium on Thursday, 16th July at 10am. Donations for Cancer Research UK are welcomed.

  • Jim, a respected vicar and community leader, passed away on 25th June at Royal Stoke University Hospital, aged 85. With a distinguished career including roles as Rector and Canon Pastor, he will be remembered fondly. His funeral service will take place at St Mary’s Church, Nantwich on Friday, 24th July at 12 noon. Donations may be made to the church and local hospital ward.
