Weston-super-Mare staged a dramatic late comeback to clinch a 3-1 victory over Hemel Hempstead Town, elevating them to second place in the National League South standings.
The Seagulls bounced back convincingly from their first defeat of the season, which came at home against Dover the previous weekend. The win was sealed thanks to two clinical finishes by Brad Ash and a crucial goal from Louis Britton.
Hemel Hempstead took an early lead in the 16th minute when Remaye Campbell capitalised on a long ball, his shot deflecting in off the post.

Weston nearly found an equaliser just before the break when Will Dawes’ effort was expertly tipped around the post for a corner.
It was not until the 74th minute that Weston managed to level the score. Jacob Jagger-Cane delivered a precise cross that Britton met with a downward header, bringing the scores level.
Momentum swung further in Weston’s favour three minutes later. Liam Sercombe flicked on a pass allowing Ash to round the goalkeeper and secure the Seagulls’ second goal.
The visitors extended their lead in the 83rd minute with Sercombe setting up Britton down the left flank; Britton’s low cross was calmly converted by Ash for his second of the match.
Ash came close to completing a hat-trick moments later, but his shot struck the top of the net.
This victory not only responded emphatically to their recent defeat but also solidified Weston-super-Mare’s position as serious contenders in the National League South this season.
