Lando Norris Headlining McLaren’s Lineup at 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed

Lando Norris, the reigning Formula 1 World Champion, is set to make a thrilling return to the legendary Goodwood Estate for the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed. As part of McLaren Racing’s 60th anniversary celebrations, Norris will take the wheel of the iconic MCL60 on Saturday, July 11, climbing the hill in front of Goodwood House to the excitement of fans eager to celebrate Britain’s latest Formula 1 World Champion.

McLaren will showcase a remarkable lineup over the four-day event, running four historic and modern cars. Alongside Norris’s MCL60 appearance, McLaren’s Formula 1 Team Reserve Driver Leonardo Fornaroli will handle driving duties throughout the weekend. Fans will also witness the exhilarating return of legendary McLaren machines: the 1993 MP4/8, its test variant the MP4/8B, and the 1976 M23.

The MP4/8 holds a special place in history as Ayrton Senna’s final race winner, triumphing in the 1993 Australian Grand Prix, exactly 33 years ago. Throughout the event, the MP4/8 will be piloted by Fornaroli, Ayrton Senna’s nephew Bruno Senna, and driver Rob Garofall. Making its public debut for the first time since September 1993, the MP4/8B, the last McLaren car driven by Ayrton Senna used to test the Chrysler-Lamborghini V12 engine, will also take to the hill.

This year also marks the 50th anniversary of James Hunt’s 1976 World Championship victory. In honor of this milestone, the legendary M23 chassis that secured Hunt’s title will be on full display and in action for all four days, giving fans a rare glimpse of a motorsport icon.

Lou McEwen, Chief Marketing Officer of McLaren Racing, expressed excitement about the event: “Goodwood Festival of Speed is a unique occasion for motorsport enthusiasts to experience extraordinary cars and on-track thrills. This year, celebrating 50 years since James Hunt’s World Championship and honoring Ayrton Senna’s legendary McLaren cars adds a rich layer of heritage to our presence. Bringing Lando Norris to drive the MCL60, marking last year’s double Championship win, is a proud moment for the team and our fans.”

The 2026 Festival promises an unforgettable celebration of McLaren’s past and present achievements, a must-see for racing fans worldwide.
