Margarida Corceiro, girlfriend of British Formula 1 driver Lando Norris, has spoken openly for the first time about their relationship and the memorable kiss they shared following Norris' World Championship victory at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The couple had maintained a low profile for years, only confirming their romance this past August amid two years of speculation.
Their relationship moment came in full view on race day, as the 26-year-old Norris celebrated his title win. After embracing his parents, Norris turned to Corceiro, who seemed visibly emotional as they hugged and kissed in front of the cameras. Reflecting on that moment, Corceiro told Portuguese broadcaster TV Guia, “I forgot the cameras were there. It was such an important moment that it didn’t even cross my mind.”
She described their relationship as a source of happiness for both of them: “I’m very happy, he’s very happy and that’s what matters.” Corceiro also addressed a controversy earlier this year, when she reportedly suggested that Norris’ rival, Max Verstappen, “just wins by luck.” Although this sparked criticism from Red Bull fans online, Corceiro said she remains unaffected by negative comments: “I didn’t see anything. I ignore the criticisms. They don’t bother me or change my daily life.”

Norris publicly acknowledged Corceiro’s support when they confirmed their relationship at the Hungarian Grand Prix. Speaking to British Vogue, he said, “We met a few years ago but weren’t really together until recently. She’s someone I can be myself with—down to earth, despite living quite a crazy life. It’s nice when we can just rent a boat or chill at home together.”
Despite facing online abuse himself, Norris has grown resilient. He credits Corceiro’s social media experience for helping him handle negativity more effectively. “You don’t want to see bad things written about anyone, but she’s quite wise to all of it,” he said.
