Lando Norris' Girlfriend Opens Up About Their Kiss and Verstappen Controversy

Lando Norris’ girlfriend, Portuguese model Margarida Corceiro, has spoken candidly about their relationship and the memorable kiss she shared with the British Formula 1 driver following his dramatic World Championship victory at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Until recently, the couple had maintained a discreet relationship, only confirming their dating status publicly in August after two years of speculation.

That changed dramatically on race day when, moments after securing the title, the 26-year-old Norris embraced his parents before turning to Corceiro. The emotional kiss they shared in front of hundreds of cameras captured the hearts of fans worldwide.

Reflecting on that intimate moment, Corceiro told Portuguese broadcaster TV Guia, “I’m very happy, he’s very happy and that’s what matters.” She admitted that in the excitement of the moment, she “forgot the cameras were there” and felt it was a natural expression during such a significant occasion.

Earlier this year, Corceiro stirred some controversy when she suggested that Norris’ main competitor, Max Verstappen, “just wins by luck.” Her comments sparked backlash from Red Bull fans on social media. However, Corceiro remains unfazed by any negativity, revealing, “I didn’t see anything. I don’t know what criticisms are being talked about. I ignore them. They don’t bother me and they don’t change my daily life. I continue to be happy, to be with my family, friends, colleagues… Those are the ones who are important.”

Since confirming their relationship at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Norris has praised Corceiro’s support. In an interview with British Vogue, he described her as “someone I can very much be myself with. Very down to earth and she lives quite a crazy life as well. It’s nice when we can both just rent a boat for the day or go home together and chill.”

Norris has also acknowledged the challenges of online abuse, explaining that her experience as a social media influencer has helped him better handle the negativity. “I don’t think anyone can look at a bad comment and just move on like nothing happened,” he said. “You don’t want to see bad things written about anyone, but she’s quite wise to all of it.”

Together, Norris and Corceiro appear to be navigating the pressures of public life with honesty and resilience, focusing on their happiness amid the high-octane world of Formula 1.
