Lando Norris has captured the Formula 1 World Championship after securing third place in the thrilling season finale at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The British driver needed to finish within the top three at the Yas Marina Circuit to claim the crown, and he delivered an exceptional performance under pressure.
During the race, Norris came under scrutiny for a moment when he drove off the track while overtaking Yuki Tsunoda, teammate to Max Verstappen. After a stewards' investigation, Norris was cleared of any wrongdoing, maintaining his position and momentum.
Max Verstappen, starting from pole, dominated the race and took the victory, ending the season with the most wins. However, his impressive pace was insufficient to prevent Norris from securing the championship. Verstappen finished 12.5 seconds ahead of Oscar Piastri, who came in second, while Norris trailed Piastri by only 3.9 seconds. Norris also held a comfortable 6.7-second lead over fourth-place finisher Charles Leclerc.
