During the Japanese Grand Prix, Lando Norris was heard on the radio accusing Max Verstappen of pushing him off the track after a close encounter on the pit lane exit. Despite a strong start, Norris was unable to gain an advantage over Verstappen at Turn One and remained in a fierce battle for the lead throughout the race.
The pit stops further intensified the competition as Verstappen’s slower stop led to the two drivers exiting the pit lane side-by-side. With Verstappen unable to give Norris more space without risking a penalty, Norris was forced to take the outside line, resulting in him driving over the grassy run-off area. His car became difficult to handle, leading to a heated radio exchange where Norris claimed, “He pushed me off.”
Despite Norris' claims, the stewards and pundits, including Jacques Villeneuve, deemed Verstappen’s actions as within the bounds of fair racing. Nevertheless, Norris remains focused on his goal of securing a Drivers' Championship title while emphasizing the importance of maintaining sportsmanship and a positive attitude.
