Kitchen Completely Destroyed in Yeovil House Fire

A devastating house fire in Yeovil, Somerset, resulted in the complete destruction of a kitchen and significant smoke damage throughout the home. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, November 16, when multiple emergency calls alerted the Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service to a fire breaking out at 12:50 pm.

Responding swiftly, two fire engines arrived at the scene and confirmed the kitchen was fully involved in flames. A third fire engine was dispatched to provide additional support as firefighters battled to extinguish the blaze.

Despite their efforts, the kitchen was entirely consumed by the fire. The rest of the property suffered from severe smoke damage, rendering large areas unsafe for use. After investigation, the fire service determined that the cause of the fire was accidental.

In an official statement, Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “Fire control received several 999 calls reporting a fire in a domestic property in Yeovil. Two fire engines initially responded and confirmed a kitchen fully involved in fire. A third engine was sent to assist. Crews successfully extinguished the fire, but the kitchen was 100 percent destroyed. Unfortunately, the remaining parts of the property experienced extensive smoke damage. The fire was deemed accidental.”
