Kitchen Completely Destroyed in Yeovil House Fire

A devastating house fire in Yeovil, Somerset, completely destroyed a kitchen and caused extensive smoke damage throughout the home. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, November 16, when firefighters were alerted to the blaze at 12:50 pm.

The Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service responded swiftly, dispatching two fire engines initially. Upon arrival, crews found the kitchen fully involved in flames. Due to the severity, a third fire engine was requested to support firefighting efforts.

Firefighters worked diligently to extinguish the large fire that had engulfed the kitchen. While the kitchen was entirely destroyed, the remainder of the property suffered significant smoke damage. Authorities have determined that the fire was accidental in origin.

A spokesperson from the Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service stated: “Multiple 999 calls reported a domestic property fire in Yeovil. Two fire engines were sent initially, confirming the kitchen was fully involved in fire. We requested additional resources and successfully extinguished the fire. The kitchen was 100 percent destroyed, and severe smoke damage was sustained throughout the rest of the property. The cause has been ruled accidental.”
