‘Kind and caring’ man, 49, tragically dies after being pulled from water

Tributes have poured in for Kevin Thorne, 49, a “kind and caring” man who passed away after being rescued from the water on Bridge Street in Taunton. Kevin was found in the water on Tuesday, December 9, and was rushed to hospital. Despite medical efforts, he sadly died on Monday, December 22.

A 30-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the incident but has since been released on police bail. Authorities believe Kevin and the woman knew each other, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

In a heartfelt statement released on February 27, Kevin’s family described him as a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend: “Kevin was kind and caring, always ready to help anyone in need. He was deeply loved not only by his family but by all who knew him. Losing Kevin has come as a massive shock to all his loved ones, and he will be greatly missed. He was tragically taken from us far too soon at just 49 years old.”
