Katie Price has courageously opened up about the abuse she endured in a previous relationship during an appearance on Paul C Brunson’s podcast, “We Have to Talk.” The 46-year-old former model described being strangled, spat on, and subjected to acts of vandalism and verbal abuse.
When asked if she still struggles with past relationship issues during therapy, Katie revealed: “Being strangled, spat on, my computer being completely smashed, holes punched in the wall, name calling — things like that.” She admitted that at times she feared for her life but often stayed because her partners would apologize profusely, saying, “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I’ll never do it again. I love you.”
Katie recounted the manipulative tactics used against her: “It’s always, ‘You will never find anyone as good as me. You will never find anyone who loves you like me. No one would accept you. Who would want you, an old has-been like you? You’re lucky that I want you.’”

Turning to her current relationship with JJ Slater, Katie described him as “the kindest, most genuine, easygoing, chilled person.” However, she expressed mixed feelings about her own happiness and freedom, acknowledging these emotions stem from internal struggles rather than her partner: “It’s not a reflection on him, maybe that’s what I need to change for myself.”
Throughout the conversation, Katie also discussed her difficult past, including failed IVF treatments, childhood abuse, and toxic relationships. She credited therapy with helping her process these experiences and regain control over her life. “I am free and I am light. I don’t feel heaviness; I can sleep at night because I started communicating and things get better," she shared. “It’s like a flower—everything opens. It’s like a different world. The world is like an oyster, and I’m in control of my destiny now.”
Katie also touched on her split from ex-husband Peter Andre, clarifying that their separation was initiated by him amid false accusations and misunderstandings. She recalled, “We broke up because he thought I was having an affair with my dressage rider, and I never slept with him. When Pete said, ‘I’ve had enough,’ I said, ‘fine, divorce me.’” She mentioned how news of their split was publicized on Sky News while she was at the airport with her children, stressing, “It wasn’t mutual at all,” and that they have never fully discussed the breakup.
The couple, who met during “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” in 2004, share two children: Junior and Princess.
