Jon Maybey’s New Album “Time Will Tell” Set for August Release

Somerset-based guitarist and composer Jon Maybey is set to release his latest album, Time Will Tell, on August 1st, 2025. The eleven-track record, available on vinyl, CD, and digital download, showcases a vibrant fusion of Celtic folk-rock with acoustic textures and layered instrumentation.

Time Will Tell marks a significant departure from Maybey’s well-known solo live-looping performances. Instead of performing alone on stage, the new album embraces a full-band studio approach. Traditional Celtic melodies are reimagined with intricate arrangements that feature mandolins, flutes, and a driving rhythm section alongside acoustic and electric guitars.

“This time I wanted to work with a band in a studio rather than on a stage,” says Maybey. “It has a very human feel which is refreshing, given all the electronic music that is dominating the landscape.”

Mostly instrumental, the album includes standout vocal performances from folk singer Rosie Eade on the traditional classic “The Blacksmith” and the previously released single “Come to Me.” Both tracks highlight the album’s mix of rootsy authenticity and contemporary craft.

Produced in his solar-powered studio in Wellington, Somerset, the album reflects Maybey’s commitment to sustainable artistry and musical exploration. A multi-instrumentalist, Maybey plays guitar, mandolin, bass, and percussion, bringing a personal touch to every layer of the production.

With past collaborations including Grammy Award-winning singer Eddi Reader and the electro-folk band Elephant Talk, Maybey has built a reputation for blending genres across Europe and the UK. His background in composing for theatre, dance, and circus performances adds a cinematic depth to Time Will Tell.

Fans can catch Jon Maybey performing live at local festivals and venues throughout the year. Full details and pre-orders for the new album are available at www.jonmaybeymusic.com/shop.
