Join the Effort to Conserve Bath’s Green Spaces

Local residents with a passion for nature are encouraged to take part in enhancing biodiversity at green spaces throughout Bath. The call to action is for those living in the Somer Valley to participate in Somer Valley Rediscovered, a project dedicated to bolstering biodiversity and fostering stronger community connections with the landscape.

The Green Spaces project is a pivotal component of this endeavor and encompasses diverse areas such as Waterside Valley, Haydon Batch, Midsomer Norton Town Park, Wellow Brook Walk, and Staddlestones Park. Volunteering sessions are set to commence in January, offering opportunities for active engagement in conservation efforts.

Somer Valley Rediscovered is a collaborative initiative led by Bath & North East Somerset Council, Wessex Water, Natural England, and the University of Bath. Its primary goal is to transform the Somer Valley into a region characterized by rich biodiversity, resilience to climate change, and a flourishing community deeply rooted in its natural surroundings.
