A widower from Cheddar is urgently seeking the public’s assistance after precious jewellery belonging to his late wife was stolen during a recent burglary. The jewellery carries immense sentimental importance, representing over five decades of shared memories.
Avon and Somerset Police are investigating the incident that occurred at a property on Round Oak Grove around 8pm on Thursday, October 30. An unknown suspect gained entry and made off with valuable jewellery items.
A police spokesperson stated, “Forensic examinations were conducted at the scene the following day. We appeal to residents and anyone nearby who might have seen suspicious activity or has relevant footage to come forward. Additionally, we ask the public to be vigilant for these items being sold online or locally.”

The bereaved husband told SomersetLive, “This jewellery was a treasured part of my late wife’s legacy after 54 years of marriage. Its sentimental value is irreplaceable, and I desperately hope it can be returned.”
