Jeremy Clarkson has revealed that the upcoming season of Clarkson’s Farm will candidly show the serious health challenges he faced last year, culminating in an emergency hospitalisation.
The 65-year-old former Top Gear host has been documenting his journey running an Oxfordshire farm on Amazon Prime Video for several years. Last August, he expanded the farm’s operations by opening a farm shop and a pub called The Farmer’s Dog, which added significant stress.
Clarkson admitted he was worried about the financial viability of the ventures and exposed the “total disasters” that unfolded behind the scenes at the pub. Amid these mounting pressures, Jeremy experienced alarming symptoms including chest tightness, eventually leading to an urgent hospital visit.

Doctors discovered one of his arteries was completely blocked and fitted him with a stent in a life-saving heart operation. Clarkson describes how his health crisis escalated rapidly in the final two episodes of the season.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: “You can see me becoming more and more ill as the days go on, because I just lose my sense of humour, lose my ability to stay calm. I get in a proper old panic.” He acknowledged feeling like he wasn’t himself during filming but was determined to get the pub open for the August Bank Holiday while managing the farm harvest.
Clarkson reflected on the exhaustion and sleepless nights, saying: “I was coming back knackered from a day trying to get the pub open, and having to get straight into the tractor to do grain carting through the night. It was one thing after another after another.”
His disclosure follows a harrowing incident while on holiday in the Seychelles when he surfaced from a dive with water-filled lungs, prompting an urgent ambulance ride. He explained to The Sunday Times: “At my age, you never know when your last dive is going to be, or your last anything, for that matter.”
Since his operation, Clarkson has had to make serious lifestyle changes. In a piece for The Sun, he revealed he has eliminated many of his favorite foods and alcohol and increased exercise, joking, “I’m not allowed to have fun anymore.”
Fans can catch the latest season of Clarkson’s Farm on Amazon Prime Video, where the series confronts the raw realities of farming and Clarkson’s personal health battle.
