The International Garden Photographer of the Year (IGPOTY) exhibition has opened on the historic South Lawn of Stourhead estate in Wiltshire, displaying stunning images of plants, gardens, and wild landscapes from across the globe. Running from June 27 to August 27, this outdoor exhibition offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience award-winning garden photography in one of the UK’s most iconic settings.
Now in its 18th edition, IGPOTY is one of the world’s premier competitions celebrating the artistry of garden, plant, and botanical photography. The competition takes a broad view of the term “garden,” encompassing not only cultivated spaces but also the wider natural world, emphasizing Earth as everyone’s shared garden.
Betsy Ogilvie, Senior Visitor Experience Officer at Stourhead, expressed enthusiasm about hosting the exhibition: “The photographers’ talent is truly remarkable, capturing the awe-inspiring beauty of nature and sharing moments of wonder from around the world. There is no better place to celebrate this joy of gardens than here at Stourhead, one of Britain’s most beloved landscapes.”

A special feature of the exhibition is a dedicated display titled “The Splendours of Stourhead,” showcasing higher-placed photographs from this category unique to the estate. Tyrone McGlinchey, Managing Director and Head Judge of IGPOTY, highlighted the significance of the collaboration: “Bringing this touring exhibition to the world-famous Stourhead perfectly aligns with our mission to connect people with gardens and nature through photography. Exhibiting here inspires visitors with breathtaking images in an equally breathtaking setting.”
