Couples looking for wedding inspiration are being welcomed to the Dorset Museum & Art Gallery for a free wedding fair set beneath its iconic Roman mosaics and stained-glass windows. The event, scheduled for Sunday, April 27 from 11am to 3pm, will offer a wide range of services from local wedding vendors including bridal wear, flowers, entertainment, catering, and photography. Attendees can also enjoy interactive displays and performances to help them envision their perfect day.
Whether newly engaged or in the final stages of preparation, all those planning a wedding are welcome to the event, with the opportunity to meet suppliers face-to-face and gather ideas in a unique, historic setting. The museum, located in the heart of Dorchester, is currently taking bookings for weddings and special events from 2027. The Victorian Hall, featuring high decorative ceilings, stained-glass rose window, balconies, and original Roman mosaic flooring, provides a historic and atmospheric backdrop for ceremonies and receptions.
The museum’s events team will be available during the fair to discuss how the venue can be tailored to individual styles and needs. Claire Dixon, executive director of Dorset Museum & Art Gallery, expressed excitement about the event, stating: “We are so excited to be inviting couples to our Wedding Fair again this year. This event not only connects couples with quality local vendors but also allows them to experience first-hand the creative possibilities for their special day.”
