A significant fire severely damaged three industrial units in Highbridge, Somerset, on the morning of Monday, May 18. Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service responded promptly after receiving multiple 999 calls reporting the blaze at a commercial property in Burnham Without at 8:53 a.m.
Upon arrival, crews found the building fully engulfed in flames. Initial responders included three fire engines and an aerial ladder platform, but as the situation escalated, additional resources were deployed. In total, eight fire engines along with a command support unit arrived on the scene from nearby stations, including Taunton, Bridgwater, Burnham-On-Sea, Glastonbury, Street, Cheddar, Martock, and Weston-Super-Mare.
The affected complex contained eight industrial units. Firefighters confirmed that one unit was completely destroyed by the fire, while two adjacent units suffered approximately 50 percent damage from smoke. The blaze was extinguished by 12:26 p.m. using a combination of one foam jet, three attack jets, two safety jets, and two hose reel jets.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation as fire officials continue to assess the damage and work to determine the origin of the incident.
