A distinctive Indian vegan and vegetarian restaurant, Sarthi, has opened its doors in a former church on Walcot Street, Bath. The historic Grade II listed building, once home to Pomegranate, now hosts this vibrant new dining experience.
Operated by a London-based hospitality group focusing on healthy, plant-based Indian fusion, Sarthi debuted in April, promising to add a fresh and exciting dimension to Bath’s dynamic food scene. The spacious restaurant accommodates around 150 guests and includes a private dining and function room.
A spokesperson shared the journey behind Sarthi: “Launching this restaurant is a passion project led by a young female entrepreneur, built from the ground up without major investors, driven purely by passion, dedication, and a clear vision.

“Sarthi offers an authentic taste of India with an entirely plant-based and vegetarian menu, showcasing dishes rarely found elsewhere in Bath. From classic dosas and rich curries to unique regional specialties, we aim to create a welcoming, flavourful, and community-focused space.”
The leasehold sale was facilitated by Christie & Co, a specialist business property adviser, who described the venue as “a large restaurant and bar set within a characterful Grade II listed building.”
Graeme Clifford, business agent for pubs and restaurants at Christie & Co, commented: “Although the sale was off-market, we received strong interest from buyers both locally and from London. We are thrilled to see Sarthi launch in this prime Bath location and wish the new operators every success.”
