Iconic Weston Grand Pier Welcomes Dogs Permanently

Weston-super-Mare’s iconic Grand Pier has declared that dogs are now welcome on the pier permanently, after a highly successful trial period. This exciting decision allows dogs and their owners to explore the scenic attraction overlooking the Bristol Channel without restrictions.

During June’s month-long trial, approximately 25,000 dogs visited the pier, with owners overwhelmingly endorsing the initiative. To make the experience even more enjoyable for four-legged visitors, the pier has introduced special amenities such as water refill stations, complimentary dog biscuits, and dog-friendly ice cream.

Ripley, the Grand Pier’s Chief Canine Officer, expressed enthusiasm over the move: “We always knew dogs were part of the family, and now they’re officially part of The Grand Pier! The trial was an incredible success, with plenty of wagging tails to prove it. It’s clear that dogs contribute to the vibrant atmosphere here.”

Adding to the fun, the Grand Pier unveiled the UK’s first ‘Doggy Grab Game,’ where pups can win treats through playful challenges. To ensure a safe and pleasant visit for everyone, the pier maintains guidelines including leash requirements and certain breed restrictions, with a lighthearted reminder for well-behaved pups: “Three barks and you’re out!”
