Iconic Bath street to undergo temporary changes for Robbie Williams concerts

Preparations are underway for Robbie Williams’ eagerly awaited concert series at Bath’s iconic Royal Crescent this summer. Organisers, Senbla, have secured planning permission from Bath & North East Somerset Council to temporarily remove two sections of the Crescent Lawn’s listed railings. This measure will facilitate the construction of the concert stage.

A temporary bridge will also be installed at the site of the removed railings, allowing smooth access for equipment and crew. Additionally, bollards at the junction of Marlborough Buildings and Royal Crescent—also integral to the listed streetscape—will be temporarily removed to support the build.

The removal process is scheduled to start in the first week of June and will last up to three weeks. Importantly, all changes are temporary, with full restoration of the railings and bollards planned immediately after the event. Council officials have emphasized that there will be no permanent alterations to the structure or appearance of the Grade I-listed site.

This isn’t the first time such measures have been implemented at the Royal Crescent. A similar operation took place in 2022 during Michael Bublé’s performance at the venue.

Robbie Williams’ concerts are set for Friday, June 13, and Saturday, June 14.
