Huntsman Fined for Failing to Call Off Dogs During Fox Hunt

Wayne Gregory, a 48-year-old huntsman from Huish Champflower, has been fined for illegally hunting a fox with dogs. Following a thorough six-month investigation by Avon and Somerset Police, Gregory pleaded guilty to breaching the Hunting Act 2004 during a Vale of Taunton and Banwell Harriers hunt last November.

The incident occurred when Gregory failed to call off his dogs while they were pursuing a fox, a clear violation of the law. As a result, he was fined £250 and ordered to pay £185 in legal costs.

Two other individuals involved in the hunt, Ross Cordery, aged 45 from Highbridge, and James Parish, aged 31 from Uffculme, were initially charged but have since had their cases discontinued.
