Hollywood star and musician Kiefer Sutherland has declared Bath’s beloved Chinese restaurant, Peking on New Street, as one of his favourite dining spots in the entire UK.
Currently touring the country with his band, the British-Canadian actor took to Facebook to sing the praises of this independent Bath eatery, instantly boosting its profile. Jun Wong, the owner of Peking, revealed that Kiefer has been a loyal customer since 2022, consistently ordering the same dishes on every visit.
“We’ve never treated him differently,” Mr. Wong said. “He’s very down to earth and just one of our regular customers.” The star stayed in Bath for two nights, dining at Peking both evenings during his visit.

Since Kiefer’s enthusiastic endorsement, the restaurant has experienced a notable surge in bookings, with more locals and visitors eager to dine where the star found a culinary favourite.
As part of his UK tour, which recently included stops in Exeter and Bournemouth, Kiefer also expressed his fondness for Bath itself, calling it “one of my favourite places to play and one of my favourite towns in the world.”
