The Old Crown Inn, a cherished village pub just two miles from Bath, is set to reopen after being closed since November last year. The closure followed the departure of the previous manager due to personal reasons, leaving the beloved venue’s popular beer garden silent throughout the summer.
Now, The Old Crown Inn will welcome a new chapter under the leadership of landlady Georgina Baker. Ms Baker brings considerable experience from her time managing the Crown & Horseshoe in Bristol and The Lord Nelson Marshfield in Chippenham.
In a recent Facebook announcement dated Thursday 27 August, a spokesperson for the pub shared, “The wait is officially over-well, almost! We are absolutely thrilled to announce that The Old Crown Inn is under new management, and we are working tirelessly behind the scenes to get the doors open for you as soon as possible.”
The message expressed gratitude to the local community for their warm reception: “We want to give a massive thank you to the village already. We have felt incredibly welcome, and it has been amazing to see how many of you lovely locals are already eager to get involved and support us. This is your pub, and we can’t wait to share it with you again. You are in incredibly safe hands.”
The Old Crown Inn joins the family of establishments led by Georgina Baker, who is known for revitalising historic pubs with dedication and care. The new team is eager to bring the same passion to Kelston, transforming the venue and restoring its vibrant atmosphere.
