Historic Church Transformed into Stunning Fashion Runway

Bridgwater’s iconic Church of St Mary, dating back to the 14th century, is undergoing a remarkable transformation later this month, serving as the extraordinary venue for the SEASONS Fashion Show. This two-night event, set for Friday, May 30 and Saturday, May 31, brings together designers from the UK and Europe for a unique blend of history and haute couture.

Internationally acclaimed designer Nathan Slate, founder of Bridgwater’s SL-ATE Concept Store, curates the show, turning the ancient church into a bold, atmospheric catwalk. The setting provides a dramatic contrast and perfect backdrop for showcasing avant-garde collections, promising an immersive cultural experience that celebrates both fashion and local heritage.

Participating designers include Portugal’s D\BACKYARD, Henrique Teixeira, and The Void Studio, alongside UK talents such as Brighton’s Rosie Evans, templ_studio, Julia Thompson Jewellery, and LaLa Wibberley-Wood. Nathan Slate will also premiere his latest creations, adding a homegrown flair to the lineup.

A highlight of the event is the unveiling of ‘Blossoming Bridgwater,’ a bespoke fashion piece designed to honor the town’s unique identity and vibrant artistic scene.

Tickets are available for £5, with refreshments served on-site. Following the show, attendees are invited to an informal social gathering at the nearby Old Vicarage Hotel, encouraging community engagement and creative networking.

Supported by the Bridgwater Town Deal, the SEASONS Fashion Show aims to showcase Bridgwater’s expanding role in the UK’s cultural and creative industries, marking a new chapter in the town’s rich history.
