If you are seeking a charming day trip, Bradford-on-Avon, a historic town in Wiltshire near the Somerset border, offers a storybook setting for visitors at any time of year. Recently, tourist Eliza Radu posted a TikTok video showcasing the town’s appeal, encouraging others to add it to their travel plans.
The video begins outside the quaint Bridge Tea Rooms, where Eliza enjoys a traditional English tea before embarking on a walk alongside the River Avon. She notes: “Just 10 minutes by train from Bath, this little town is one of the prettiest day trips you can do if you’re visiting the area.”
Introducing the destination, Eliza describes it as: “A rainy day in Bradford-on-Avon feels like stepping into an old English novel.” She paints a vivid picture of honey-coloured cottages, serene riverside paths, historic bridges, cosy cafés and tranquil streets that seem even more enchanting in wet weather.

Undeterred by the rain, she highlights the town’s slower pace and peaceful atmosphere, calling it the kind of England “you imagine in films and storybooks.” Her suggested itinerary includes riverside walks along the Avon, exploring medieval streets, visiting the old stone Town Bridge, and pausing for a coffee.
