Bath City has announced its first summer signing with the arrival of 33-year-old Enzio Boldewijn from Wealdstone. Manager Scott Bartlett secured the versatile Dutchman, impressed by his consistent performances and professional attitude.
Boldewijn, born near Amsterdam, began his career at FC Utrecht’s youth academy before moving to the UK a decade ago. He joined Crawley Town from Almere City and later made a notable move to Notts County in 2018 for a six-figure fee. His career also includes spells at Sutton United, Eastleigh, and two productive seasons at Wealdstone, where he made over 100 appearances and captained the side 16 times last season.
Bartlett is excited about the signing, describing Boldewijn as a “statement signing” who can make a significant impact. “He can play in four or five positions and has a fantastic attitude. Over the last eight years, he’s averaged more than 40 games a season, which is exactly the kind of durability and commitment we value,” Bartlett said. He added that Boldewijn’s robust style and leadership qualities will benefit a squad not planning to be very large.

Boldewijn is enthusiastic about joining Bath City, a club he calls “big” and a perfect fit for his current focus on balancing family life with football. “I want to play as many games as possible. I’m proud of my fitness and fortunate to have avoided serious injuries so far,” he said. Having played in various roles, starting as a winger, Boldewijn prides himself on his versatility and willingness to support teammates, particularly younger players.
“We had a quick and positive conversation, and I knew immediately I wanted to be part of this team,” Boldewijn added. He also expressed delight at discovering Bath’s historic charm during his visit to Parade Gardens.
Alongside this signing, Bath City announced their retained list, contract updates, and departures. Bartlett expressed gratitude to past players and confirmed ongoing contract discussions as the club prepares for the new season.
