Haynes Museum Launches Exciting ‘Cars ‘N’ Cracklin’’ Summer Nights for Vehicle Enthusiasts

This summer, the Haynes Motor Museum in Sparkford, Somerset, is firing up the engines with its inaugural Cars ‘N’ Cracklin’ event — an exciting evening dedicated to classic cars, live music, and delicious slow-roasted food.

Set for Friday, July 18, from 6:30pm to 9:30pm, the event transforms the museum’s spacious outdoor car park into a vibrant hub for car and motorcycle enthusiasts. Attendees can admire a diverse collection of standout vehicles, brought by passionate owners eager to share their love for motors.

Tickets grant entry to the showcase along with a choice of a slow-roasted pork burger or a vegetarian pulled jackfruit alternative, served from 7:15pm. To keep the atmosphere lively, Somerset’s indie rock cover band Microlight will perform energizing live tunes throughout the night.

A highlight of the evening will be the retro-themed 80s and 90s paddock inside the museum grounds, featuring iconic models such as the Ford Escort RS Cosworth, MG Maestro Turbo, and Mazda RX-7 FC. Visitors can vote for their favorite classic car, and owners interested in showcasing their vehicles can apply via the museum’s website.

Tickets are priced at £12.50 for adults and £9.50 for children aged 4 to 15, with free admission for children under four (note that food is not included for this age group). Ticket sales close on Sunday, July 13.

Following the success of this first night, a second Cars ‘N’ Cracklin’ event is scheduled for Saturday, August 16, with ticket sales ending on Thursday, August 7.

This new event complements the museum’s well-loved Haynes Breakfast Clubs and precedes the highly anticipated John Haynes Classic Motor Show set for Sunday, September 7.
